MINING OPERATIONS AND HISTORICAL PRODUCTION

We hold the mining rights to two historic projects in the Iberian Pyrite Belt: the Tharsis and La Zarza mines. Historically, around 80 million tonnes of pyrite have been extracted from both mines to produce sulphuric acid, with significant Cu, Zn and Pb contents.

  • In this period around 40Mt of pyrite with an estimated Cu content of more than 400,000 t was mined.

La Zarza Mines

  • More than 40 million tonnes have been mined at the La Zarza mine with an estimated content of 280,000 tonnes of copper, 600,000 tonnes of zinc and 200,000 tonnes of lead.
